Assistant Warehouse Supervisor

Working Routine:

50 hours Contract

Hours: Monday - Thursday 05:00am-15:30pm & Friday - 12:00pm- 22:30pm

50 Hours Permanent Contract

About us:

Bond International has specialised in wholesale tyres for 60 years. Pocklington near York is the location of our HQ and first distribution centre. Our other four tyre distribution centres are located in Bracknell, Chepstow, Biggleswade, Tamworth, St Helens & Bathgate. We have grown and maintained our position as one of the UK's leading tyre wholesalers.

Bond International are currently recruiting for an Assistant Warehouse Supervisor to join its dynamic and well-established business in Pocklington.

The Role:

As a Assistant Warehouse Supervisor you will be responsible for the MID day operational and management of the warehouse. You will be partly responsible for supporting and managing the Operatives on the MID Day shift.

You'll be naturally friendly and want to get stuck in, working with your team to deliver great results. You'll have an enthusiastic approach and be a strong coach, mentor, motivator and role model to the managers and colleagues around you, driving performance and working cross-functionally, whilst communicating effectively across all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

· Ensuring that the quality, qualifications and experience of the MIDs warehouse staff is appropriate to their roles.

· Responsibility for the health and safety of all staff based in the depot ensuring all health and safety operational policies are adhered to.

· Recording and reporting accidents in accordance with company policy.

· Ensuring all warehouse service levels are maintained (see below) at the same time as keeping costs at or below budgeted levels.

· Promoting good behaviours from all warehouse staff.

· Motivating, mentoring, encouraging and training warehouse staff to get the maximum productivity from each member of the team.

· Responsibility for the accuracy of the stock in the depot, including location accuracy.

· Oversee the maintenance of machinery including signing in and out of keys for accountability.

· Responding to and dealing with sales communication by email and telephone efficiently.

· Responsible for physical condition of warehouse, performing warehouse checks daily.

Qualifications & Skills:

· A qualification in distribution, logistics, transportation, management, business studies is preferential.

Relevant experience can be useful, particularly any teamwork experience.

Working Routine:
