Full job description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Finance Manager to join our finance team and play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will assist with the smooth running of the finance function, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting and effective financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the Finance Manager with the day-to-day management of the finance function.
Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
Overseeing purchase and sales ledger activities.
Supporting cash-flow management and bank reconciliations.
Assisting with month-end and year-end procedures.
Assisting with payroll.
Supporting the general day-to-day running of the office and assisting with general administrative duties as required.
Monitoring financial controls and ensuring compliance with company policies.
Investigating variances and providing financial information to managers.
Supporting external accountants and auditors when required.
Supervising and supporting members of the finance team where appropriate.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Experienced in a finance or accounts role, ideally with management-accounting experience.
AAT qualified.
Confident using Excel and financial/accounting systems.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Able to analyse financial information and communicate findings clearly.
Comfortable working to deadlines and managing competing priorities.
Proactive, reliable and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
