Club Steward / Manager
Location: Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire
Hours: Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are looking for an experienced, responsible and personable Club Steward / Manager to take overall day-to-day responsibility for the operation of our members’ club in Pateley Bridge.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the Club, providing a welcoming environment for members and guests while maintaining high standards of service, stock control, cash handling and compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the Club and ensure opening hours are adequately staffed and covered.
- Provide a welcoming and professional service to members and their guests.
- Take responsibility for bar stock, cash handling, stock control and regular stocktakes/reconciliations.
- Work closely with the Club Committee and provide regular reports on the Club’s operations and finances.
- Ensure Club procedures, licensing requirements and other relevant regulations are followed.
- Promote, protect and develop the aims and interests of the Club.
- Organise and supervise staff and casual workers as required for normal operations and Club events.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, customer service and responsible retailing.
- Deal professionally with members, guests, suppliers and contractors.
- Identify and report any operational issues or concerns promptly to the Committee.
- Undertake other reasonable duties necessary for the effective running of the Club.
Essential requirements
- Must hold a current Personal Licence to sell alcohol.
- Must be prepared to accept appointment as the Club’s Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS).
- Previous experience in a licensed premises, bar, club, pub or hospitality management role.
- Strong organisational and cash-handling skills.
- A responsible and professional approach to licensing, compliance and stock control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while working closely with the Club Committee.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and during Club events.
- The right to work in the UK.
The ideal candidate
We are looking for someone who is dependable, approachable and commercially aware, with the confidence to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Club. Previous management or supervisory experience within a licensed environment would be highly advantageous.

Pay: £27,500.00-£29,500.00 per year
