This position reports to the Senior Director, Digital Technology and is part of the Digital Team located in Cambridge, UK and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Develop and own the enterprise architecture strategy and reference architecture.

Lead simplification and continuous Improvement efforts across the digital estate, including application rationalization, integration strategy, and technology consolidation.

Collaborate with Product and Engineering to guide solution design and ensure alignment with architectural principles.

Implement architecture governance frameworks, decision boards, and technical standards.

Oversee technology lifecycle management, including cloud strategy, modernization, and decommissioning.

Ensure architecture decisions support security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
The essential requirements of the job include
-
BSc Degree in appropriate technical capability Computer Science, Information systems, or Engineering (MSc /MBA preferred)

Extensive experience (10–15 years) in enterprise and solution architecture within complex environments.

Demonstrated success in simplifying and modernizing large technology estates.

Expertise in cloud-native architectures, API strategies, data platforms, and integration patterns.

Direct Experience of working on Oracle Fusion stacks leveraging Mulesoft integrations connecting standard and/or bespoke built applications to deliver business critical services.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role

Potential for occasional travel to one of Abcam’s global offices
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
