We are seeking a Customs Coordinator to support our European removals operation by preparing customs paperwork, liaising with agents and clients, and ensuring all border documentation is in place ahead of vehicle departures and returns.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare customs paperwork and supporting documents for inter-Europe removals, for submission to our customs agents
- Liaise with agents regarding job requirements, document issues and clearance progress
- Send customs document requirements to clients, collate returned paperwork and assist with any issues or questions
- Ensure all customs and border paperwork is ready prior to vehicle departures, including GMRs, Eurotunnel bookings, T1s, etc.
- Keep customs spreadsheets, approval trackers and country-specific document requirements up to date
- Monitor customs requirement changes, border procedures, holiday closures and any country-specific updates
- Liaise with sales, operations and management regarding customs requirements/issues for upcoming and ongoing jobs
- Check customs tax invoices, raise purchase orders and assist clients with customs tax queries where required
- Help improve customs processes, agent relationships and overall efficiency within the European removals operation
- Manage, maintain and keep updated excel spreadsheets in an efficient and timely manner
Requirements
- Previous experience in customs, removals, freight forwarding or transport administration preferred
- Good organisational skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple jobs and deadlines at once
- Confident communicating with clients, customs agents and internal teams
- Experience with UK / European customs procedures is desirable
Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
