Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Web Designer to join our team. This role requires advanced technical expertise in WordPress and Elementor, combined with the ability to develop custom booking and ordering systems that meet complex business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop sophisticated WordPress websites using Elementor Pro to an expert level
- Build and integrate custom booking systems for appointments, services, and reservations
- Create bespoke product ordering and e-commerce solutions
- Manage the complete website launch process, including domain configuration, hosting setup, SSL certificates, and DNS management
- Coordinate and execute website migrations from staging to live environments
- Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance for existing client websites
- Troubleshoot and resolve urgent issues with live client sites, ensuring minimal downtime
- Monitor website performance and proactively address potential problems
- Manage and coordinate external designers and freelancers on projects, ensuring quality standards are met
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, managing timelines and delivering to strict deadlines
- Delegate tasks effectively and provide clear direction to external team members
- Develop custom post types, taxonomies, and advanced custom fields to support complex functionality
- Optimise website performance, load times, and user experience across all devices
- Maintain and update existing websites, troubleshooting technical issues as they arise
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into functional web solutions
- Review and quality-check work from external designers before final delivery
- Ensure all designs are responsive, accessible, and follow modern web standards
- Implement SEO best practices and integrate analytics tracking
- Perform regular backups and security updates across client websites
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise:
- Expert-level proficiency in WordPress (theme customisation, plugin integration, and core functionality)
- Advanced knowledge of Elementor Pro, including custom widgets, dynamic content, and theme building
- Experience with PHP and MySQL for custom functionality development
- Proficiency in WooCommerce for e-commerce implementations
- Experience with booking plugins (e.g., Amelia, Bookly) or ability to develop custom solutions
- Extensive experience with web hosting platforms (cPanel, Plesk, or similar)
- Strong understanding of DNS management, domain registrars, and SSL certificate installation
- Experience with website migration tools and techniques
- Knowledge of website backup solutions and disaster recovery procedures

- Office location: Tiptree, Essex
- Must have own reliable transport for commuting

Pay: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
