Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CSCS Shuttering Carpenter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing formwork and shuttering for concrete structures on various commercial and industrial projects. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry, masonry, and safety procedures, with the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment. Duties
- Erecting and dismantling formwork and shuttering using hand tools and power tools
- Measuring, cutting, and assembling formwork components with precision
- Ensuring all formwork is constructed according to project specifications and safety standards
- Assisting with the installation of reinforcement bars as required
- Performing heavy lifting of materials and formwork components safely and efficiently
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area to promote safety and productivity
- Collaborating with other trades such as masonry, roofing, and general labourers to ensure smooth workflow
- Conducting routine inspections of formwork for stability and integrity throughout the project duration
Experience
- Proven experience in shuttering carpentry or formwork construction on commercial or industrial sites
- Knowledge of welding, masonry, roofing, and general carpentry techniques is advantageous
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical knowledge relevant to formwork assembly
- Experience with heavy lifting equipment and safe manual handling practices
- Valid CSCS card is essential; additional skills in roofing or masonry are desirable
- Previous experience in commercial driving or operating construction machinery is a plus
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret project specifications accurately
