Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Costing Assistant to join our finance team. This role involves supporting the cost analysis and financial reporting processes within our organisation, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in cost calculations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of excel, exceptional attention to detail with a keen eye on accuracy and a proactive approach to work including a collaborative work style.

Duties

Assist in preparing and maintaining accurate cost records using excel.
Support the accounts payable process by verifying and processing invoices related to costs
Collaborate with the Costing manager finance team to update and manage data on enterprise resource planning platforms
Analyse cost data to identify discrepancies or areas for optimisation
Contribute to the preparation of financial reports by providing detailed costing information
Maintain organised documentation of all cost-related transactions and reports
Assist with month-end closing activities related to costing and financial accounting
Support internal audits by providing relevant documentation and explanations as required

Experience

Prior experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is highly desirable
Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly SAP or similar platforms, is advantageous
Experience in accounts payable and financial accounting processes would be advantageous
Advanced excel skills
Proven ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail and accuracy
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team
