About Custodia / CC1
Custodia builds CC1, a cloud-based communications platform that integrates with enterprise systems and powers real-time communication workflows across distributed microservices.
Our platform operates across:
- cloud-native microservice architecture (CC1)
- enterprise voice and communications systems
- third-party application integrations
- multi-tenant SaaS environments
- customer-like integration and validation setups
We are looking for an Application Integration Engineer to own and evolve our internal integration and QA lab environment, ensuring CC1 and connected systems can be configured, integrated, and validated end-to-end in realistic scenarios.
The Role
This is a hands-on technical engineering role focused on making sure our application ecosystem works as a complete integrated solution.
You will be responsible for the configuration, integration, and reliability of:
- the CC1 application (microservices and platform services)
- third-party integrations
- selected enterprise voice/communication systems
You will act as the technical owner of our integration lab environment, ensuring QA and R&D teams can rely on stable, realistic, and well-configured environments for validation and testing.
You will work closely with:
- Platform/DevOps teams (infrastructure and deployments)
- Software Engineering (microservices and product features)
- QA teams (test execution and validation)
- Product teams (end-to-end feature validation)
What Youll Be Doing
Application & Platform Configuration (Core Focus)
- Configure CC1 application services across a microservice-based architecture
- Manage application-level configuration (tenants, users, roles, routing, feature flags, etc.)
- Integrate and configure third-party applications and services used by CC1
- Maintain realistic multi-tenant environments that reflect customer deployments
- Ensure end-to-end application behavior is consistent across environments
System Integration (Including Voice Platforms)
- Support integration with enterprise communication systems such as:
- Cisco CUCM
- Microsoft Teams Voice
- Cisco Webex Calling
- Other UC or contact center platforms where relevant
- Understand key configuration concepts (routing, users, policies, dial plans, integration points)
- Ensure correct end-to-end behavior between CC1 and external systems
Integration Lab Ownership
- Own and maintain the CC1 integration and QA lab environment
- Ensure environments are stable, usable, and representative of real customer setups
- Support QA teams in reproducing and investigating complex issues
- Work with Engineering to validate new features in integrated environments
Technical Problem Solving & Collaboration
- Work closely with developers to understand microservice interactions and dependencies
- Debug configuration and integration issues across multiple systems
- Document setup procedures, configurations, and integration patterns
- Help improve internal tooling and environment automation
What Were Looking For
We are looking for someone who enjoys working across application configuration, system integration, and complex environments.
Essential
- Experience with enterprise communication or complex application environments
- Exposure to systems such as:
- Cisco CUCM, Microsoft Teams Voice, Webex Calling, Avaya, Genesys, or similar
- Strong understanding of application configuration concepts (users, routing, policies, tenants, etc.)
- Comfortable working with distributed systems (logs, APIs, configuration tools)
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting mindset
Nice to Have
- Exposure to SIP-based systems (conceptual understanding is sufficient)
- Experience with SaaS, microservices, or cloud-native applications
- Understanding of authentication systems (OIDC, SAML, OAuth)
- Basic scripting or automation (Bash, Python, etc.)
What Youll Learn
You will gain hands-on experience in:
- cloud-native microservice architectures (CC1)
- enterprise communication system integration
- multi-tenant SaaS configuration and operations
- real-world integration engineering across complex systems
- debugging distributed application behavior end-to-end
The Team Structure
- Platform team manages infrastructure, and deployments
- Development team builds CC1 microservices
- QA team validates product behavior
- You will own the application integration and configuration layer that connects everything into a working system
Why This Role Is Interesting
This role sits at the intersection of:
- a modern cloud-native application (CC1)
- enterprise communication systems
- real-world customer integration scenarios
You will not just maintain configurationsyou will ensure that a complex ecosystem of applications and services works together as a reliable, testable platform.
