Full job description

Margaret Howell is a contemporary British clothing designer who has worked successfully in men’s and women’s clothing for over five decades. Today, Margaret Howell clothes are sold worldwide with 12 own shops in Europe, over 70 outlets in Japan and an established online business.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated HR Assistant Apprentice to join our HR team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in all aspects of HR while working towards a recognised HR qualification. No previous HR experience is necessary; we're seeking someone with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in developing a career in Human Resources.

LOCATION

Head office, W1

HOURS

Full-time - 35 hours, Monday - Friday

Fixed Term Contract across the duration of the apprenticeship (approximately 18 months)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supporting recruitment and onboarding processes
Preparing employment contracts, offer letters and other HR documentation
Maintaining employee records and HR systems
Assisting with absence, holiday and probation administration
Responding to routine HR queries from employees and managers
Supporting learning and development activities
Assisting with HR projects and departmental activities
Attending apprenticeship training and completing coursework within agreed timescales

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of 2 GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent), including Maths and English.
Has a genuine interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources
Is organised, reliable and eager to learn
Ensure that all work set by our apprenticeship provider is completed on time and to the best of your ability
An understanding of confidentiality and professional conduct
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
Can handle confidential information professionally
Has good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
