We are looking for an experienced Content Specialist to join our marketing team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in creating and managing written, visual and digital content, with a focus on writing, design and production. You’ll collaborate with the wider marketing team and work closely with Sales, Partnerships, and Senior Leadership in this highly visible role.
For the right candidate, there’s a realistic progression path to Content Manager within the next 8-12 months as we grow and reshape our marketing proposition.
Job Summary:
As our B2B Content Specialist, you will be responsible for creating, managing, and optimising content across various platforms to boost brand visibility, attract target audiences, and align with our marketing goals.
This role demands a practical and creative individual with excellent writing and creative abilities, a solid grasp of enabling systems and platforms, website CMS management (including SEO), and effective collaboration skills with stakeholders.
You will be an organised self-starter, a natural collaborator, and be comfortable working cross-functionally and managing/prioritising your body of work to suit the needs of the business. You’ll be happy to propose ideas and work within clearly defined briefs.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation and Management:
- Develop high-quality, engaging content for the company website, blogs, newsletters, and social media platforms.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather insights and create compelling narratives that resonate with our audience.
- Support sales engagement and partnerships through the development of engaging sales content.
SEO/GEO Optimisation:
- With the support of our agency partner, conduct keyword research and implement SEO/GEO best practices to improve organic search rankings and drive traffic to the website.
- Monitor and analyse website performance using tools like Google Analytics and Search Console, making data-driven recommendations for content improvements.
Internal and External Communications:
- Support the creation and management of internal communications to keep employees informed and engaged with company initiatives and updates.
- Develop external communications, including press releases and marketing collateral, to promote company news and product launches.
Content Strategy Development:
- Assist in the development and execution of a comprehensive content strategy that supports marketing goals and enhances brand awareness.
- Identify content gaps and opportunities for new topics or formats that align with audience interests and industry trends.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with the marketing team, designers, and other departments to ensure cohesive messaging across all channels.
- Coordinate with external vendors or freelancers as needed for content production and graphic design.
Performance Tracking and Reporting:
- Track content performance metrics and prepare regular reports to assess the effectiveness of content initiatives.
- Use insights to refine content strategies and improve engagement and conversion rates.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of B2B experience in content creation, digital marketing, or a similar role.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a portfolio of published work.
- Knowledge of graphic design tools (eg. Canva)
- Proficiency in SEO principles and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, Search Console)
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience in writing/marketing to a technical audience..
- An understanding of email marketing and automation tools.
