Full job description

We are looking for a part-time VAT and Bookkeeping Clerk with experience preferably in Xero, Quickbooks and Sage to join our team in our Haverfordwest branch. There are excellent career prospects for this candidate as our firm continues to grow, and we’re looking for a person to match our ambitions.

Responsibilities:

Undertake the preparation and submission of clients VAT returns for sole traders, partnerships, LLP’S and Limited Companies using various software packages.
Communicating with Client and ensuring all VAT deadlines are submitted on time.
Prepare clients bookkeeping ready to submit to HM Revenue & Customs for ‘Making Tax Digital’.
Understanding of accounting software, on Quickbooks, Xero, Sage, Excel is required.
When necessary, undertake any other bookkeeping duties.
Responsible for the safekeeping of confidential client records including receipts, invoice, in accordance with relevant legislation.
Responds to enquires from clients, employees and other external sources as required.
General day to day running of the VAT department and allocation of jobs to the team as well as maintaining manual and computerised records in accordance with legislation and firm’s policies and procedures.
Keep up to date with the HM Revenue and Customs rules and assist and train the team on VAT rules and regulations.
Be at the forefront of digital technology to give clients access to real time management accounts, which will enable businesses to make informed decisions.
Undertake other reasonable business tasks as required within the practice.

The Successful candidate will be:

Qualified by experience.
Team orientated, need to get involved and recognise that your personal drive will influence your own and the team’s performance.
Able to work to deadlines and have a desire to exceed client’s expectations.
Enthusiastic, hardworking and have good communication skills.
Attention to detail and good technical competency.
Confident in managing own time, the team and workload
Comfortable with coaching less experienced staff members
Good knowledge of accounting bookkeeping products.
A team player

Salary is commensurate on experience.

Contract Type: Permanent.

Hours: Part time.

Location: Haverfordwest Office.
