Role Overview
This role will primarily focus on purchase ledger activities and be fundamental to the smooth running of our finance function, ensuring invoices are processed efficiently while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
This is a great opportunity to join an expanding finance team based at St. Peter's Brewery, dealing with financial operations across the group. This exciting role would suit either an experienced Finance Administrator looking for a permanent position within a growing business, or someone wishing to develop a career in finance through an AAT apprenticeship, gaining valuable practical experience alongside a recognised qualification.
Own transport is essential, due to the rural location of our offices near Bungay, Suffolk.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing our accounts@ inboxes
- Ensuring invoices are matched to purchase orders and approved in a timely manner
- Reconciling supplier accounts and statements
- Processing invoices accurately, including nominal coding and VAT analysis
- Maintaining supplier accounts and resolving supplier queries
- Processing payment runs and supporting cashflow processes
- Analysis of company credit card expenditure
- Assisting with sales ledger and purchase ledger month-end processes
- Completing bank reconciliations
- Supporting the finance team with administrative duties
- Assisting with credit control activities
- Undertaking ad hoc finance and administration tasks as required
Skills and Experience
For experienced applicants:
- Previous experience in a purchase ledger (essential) and VAT (desirable) role
- Knowledge of VAT processes would be advantageous
- Competent in all Microsoft Office packages, specifically Excel (essential)
For apprenticeship applicants:
- A strong interest in finance and accounting
- Willingness to study towards an AAT qualification
- Good numeracy and IT skills
- Previous office experience would be advantageous but is not essential

Working Hours
Monday-Thursday: 8.30am-5pm and Friday: 8.30am-4pm (although some flexibility will be required) with a 30 minutes unpaid lunch break each day.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £25,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
