Compass Children’s Homes is an independent social care provider with an excellent reputation for providing high-quality and tailored packages of care to young people. We have several specialist residential therapeutic communities for children overcoming childhood trauma (OCT); children overcoming sexual trauma (OST) and children Overcoming Problematic Sexual Behaviour (OPSB).

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Psychologist, to join a residential team in one of our specialist homes to deliver the New Ways therapeutic programme and enable staff to support the therapeutic goals in the residential setting. The programme combines the delivery of individual therapy and group work to children and training packages to the residential staff.

Comprehensive training and supervision provided by the New Ways Safeguarding Team – includes Psychologists, Clinicians and Group Work Specialists.
Established programme psychologists will have the opportunity to apply for the Stage Two qualification sponsored by Compass.

Requirements

The successful applicant will have

A Recognised Masters in Psychology
An active, energetic, creative, outgoing character
Good communication skills and be fluent in English speaking
A full driving licence

Preferred experience

Therapeutic work with children
Group work with young people
Trauma focussed cognitive behavioural therapy (TF-CBT)
Applying psychometric tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with service users

Please note this role is also referred to internally as "Programme Psychologist".

The recruitment process aims to create and maintain a safe workforce and contains robust vetting procedures. The successful applicant will be appointed subject to references, enhanced DBS and screening.
