We are recruiting for an Adoptions Coordinator to support the delivery of the Blue Cross strategy by providing an efficient service which coordinates the adoption of horses from centres, foster yards or from home-based services.
In this key role, you will be responsible for hitting horse rehoming targets and providing post-adoption support by collaborating with Regional Adoptions Facilitators. Working efficiently with Adoptions and Admissions Coordinators, Foster Yard Coordinators, and the onsite adoption preparation team, you'll maximize adoptions across the Rehoming and Fostering network. This ensures swift intake of horses to pre-matched new homes.
Daily, you’ll manage a pool of homes, match and adopt horses, and offer post-adoption support, making key decisions based on your knowledge of potential adopters and available horses. You'll identify horses and adopters needing extra support and prioritize their needs. Building strong relationships with adopters while balancing the needs of horses and the national network is crucial.
Ensuring excellent client interactions is as important as delivering robust rehoming services. Your role is critical to achieving Blue Cross's ambitious strategy of helping more horses find loving homes.
This is a part-time role working 33.75 hours over 4.5 days per week on a rota which includes weekends and bank holidays following the below work pattern:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (AM). There is also some flexibility with Tuesday and Thursday, so that you can work 5 days on week one and 4 days on week two.
For a more detailed look at the role and its requirements, please see the attached job description.
You are an excellent communicator with client-facing experience in horse-related environments. Your knowledge of horse welfare and riding ensures successful adoptions. You can quickly assimilate and accurately record information while engaging with clients and stakeholders.
Client-focused and decisive, you handle pressure well, challenging risk-averse decisions with evidence-based approaches. You follow set processes, embrace new methods, and adapt quickly to changes, all while improving horse welfare and maintaining high standards in the matching process.
With a problem-solving mindset, you find pragmatic solutions and prioritize adoption decisions with attention to detail. Experienced in emotionally charged environments, you demonstrate resilience and empathy, supporting both clients and colleagues effectively.
