Full job description

Leo Group is one of the UK’s leading specialists in animal by-products and renewable energy. We play a critical role in the food and agricultural industries collecting and processing material – which is converted into meals and oils for use in pet food, cosmetics, chemicals, and renewable fuel.

As we continue to grow and develop our operations, we are looking for production shift managers. This is a great opportunity for individuals that are hardworking and keen to be part of an existing business that continues to grow.

Overall purpose of the role

Drive performance and behaviours and improve production to achieve and surpass targets.

Main duties and responsibilities

Manage and monitor the production shift team to ensure the efficient achievement of production targets
Identify and implement process improvements to further improve factory performance
Completion of thorough handovers with outgoing/incoming Shift Supervisors, and directing them to improve performance where required
Monitor materials and resources to ensure their efficient use
Responsible for health and safety of the work environment
Effective management and training of the team to ensure that the cleanliness of the work area is maintained in line with strict requirements
Monitoring of fugitive emissions and any other required substances
Produce accurate and timely reporting as requested on various subjects e.g. production, attendance, stocks etc.
Responsible for all areas of people management e.g. training, attendance monitoring, disciplinary etc.
Point of escalation for any issues in the work area
Any additional activities as required by the management team

Person Specification

Experience and understanding of production processes – preferably food/feed grade production
Good level of English language; spoken & written

Behaviours

Able to make considered decisions and communicate to relevant colleagues
Methodical approach to problem solving
Able to lead and motivate the team

Measures of Success

Production figures are in line with targets
Team attendance and retention are in line with targets
Salary depends on individual basis

Shift pattern: 4 on- 4 off ( 4 days shifts - 4 days off - 4 night shifts - 4 days off)

Day shift and night shift
