Turnspeed are a significant contributor of precision components to the automotive and hydraulic industry sectors. Parts are machined in a variety of materials including mild steel, stainless steel, brass, aluminium and titanium using Sliding head, Multi spindle, Twin spindle and Rotary transfer lathes.
We are looking to recruit a skilled CNC Setter Programmer with proven experience of Twin Spindle, Twin Turret turning (Citizen/Miyano preffered) to join the team in our busy Yeovil-based precision engineering workshop. Reporting to a Section Leader, The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the safe and efficient programming, setting and operation of CNC lathes.
The main areas of responsibility include:
- Machine safety
- Accurate programming of CNC machinery
- Record keeping and administration of all associated paperwork
- Health and safety
- Quality control
- Efficient working
- Machine efficiency
Employee requirements:
Essential:
- Ability to work in a team
- Experience in a CNC Setting/Programming role within a workshop environment.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Capable of prioritising and using your own initiative
- Precise attention to detail.
This role works to the following 38 hour shift pattern that carries a competitive shift premium.
Week 1 - 5:45am-2:15pm Mon-Thurs; 5:45am-12:15pm Fri
Week 2 - 2pm-10:30pm Mon-Thurs; 12pm-6:30pm Fri
Regular Overtime available.
