Hamlyn Smith is an independent estate agency operating across Hove and Mid Sussex. We are looking for a friendly, confident and reliable Viewing Guide to join our team and help provide an excellent experience for prospective buyers viewing our properties.
This is a customer-facing role ideally suited to someone who enjoys meeting people, is comfortable working independently and can represent Hamlyn Smith in a professional and personable way.
The Role
As our Saturday Viewing Guide, you will be responsible for accompanying prospective buyers on property viewings across both our Hove and Hassocks office locations.
Your day will involve travelling between properties, meeting buyers, showing them around homes and ensuring they receive a warm, informative and professional viewing experience.
You will work closely with our sales teams, who will provide your viewing schedule and all relevant property information ahead of appointments.
Key Responsibilities
- Accompany prospective buyers on property viewings.
- Open and securely close properties before and after appointments.
- Present properties confidently and highlight their key features.
- Provide a friendly, welcoming and professional experience for every buyer.
- Answer general questions about properties using information provided by the sales team.
- Gather useful buyer feedback following viewings and report this back to the relevant office.
- Keep the team informed of any particularly interested buyers or potential offers.
- Manage your Saturday viewing schedule efficiently and arrive promptly for appointments.
- Travel between properties across Hove, Hassocks and the surrounding areas.
- Ensure keys are handled securely and properties are left safe and secure after every viewing.
- Represent Hamlyn Smith and our values to a high standard at all times.
Working Hours
Every Saturday – 8:30am to 3:30pm
The role will cover viewings arranged through both our Hove and Hassocks branches, so some travel between the two areas will be required.
Requirements
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- Have access to their own reliable vehicle for work.
- Be comfortable travelling between appointments throughout the day.
- Be confident, friendly and comfortable speaking with a wide range of people.
- Have excellent punctuality and organisational skills.
- Be reliable and able to work independently.
- Have a professional appearance and manner.
- Be trustworthy and responsible when handling clients' keys and accessing properties.
- Have a good level of local knowledge, or be willing to learn about the areas we cover.
Previous estate agency or property experience would be helpful, but is not essential, as full guidance and training will be provided.
Travel & Expenses
The Viewing Guide will use their own vehicle when travelling between appointments.
Business mileage/travel and parking expenses incurred while carrying out viewings will be reimbursed in accordance with Hamlyn Smith's expenses policy.

Pay: £13.50 per hour
