As our projects division continues to grow, we are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to lead and develop our Air Conditioning Projects.
Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, you will have full responsibility for project delivery, commercial performance and the continued development of the Projects department.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will oversee the successful delivery of multiple Air Conditioning and Mechanical Building Services projects from initial handover through to final account.
This role combines strategic leadership with operational involvement. You'll work part of a team of Project Managers, Coordinators and Site Teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
You will also play a key role in shaping processes, improving performance and supporting the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Operations
- Take ownership of the complete project lifecycle across multiple HVAC installation projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
- Lead weekly project review meetings, monitoring programme, costs, risks and resource allocation.
- Review technical drawings, specifications and project documentation.
- Develop project programmes and monitor progress against key milestones.
- Ensure procurement activities are completed in line with project requirements.
- Oversee commissioning, handover documentation, O&M manuals and project close-out.
- Ensure RAMS, compliance documentation and quality procedures are completed correctly.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor quality, health & safety and programme performance.
- Drive continuous improvement across project delivery processes and operational efficiency.
Commercial & Financial Management
- Take full P&L responsibility for the projects division.
- Monitor project profitability, cost control and financial performance.
- Manage procurement, supplier performance and subcontractor relationships.
- Review and approve quotations, project variations and contract changes.
- Work closely with the Finance team on forecasting, reporting and cash flow management.
- Ensure robust budget management and purchase order controls are maintained.
- Identify opportunities to improve margins and operational efficiency.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
- Attend client meetings and provide technical and commercial support.
- Ensure engineers and subcontractors are fully briefed before mobilisation.
- Resolve escalated project issues professionally and efficiently.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience leading high-value HVAC / Air Conditioning projects
- Previous experience managing multiple concurrent projects with full operational responsibility.
- Strong technical knowledge of Air Conditioning, HVAC and Mechanical Building Services.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office and project management software (JobLogic experience advantageous).
Desirable Qualifications
- FGAS
- Project Management qualification (APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent).
- SMSTS or SSSTS.
- IOSH or NEBOSH.
- Membership of CIBSE, BESA or similar professional body.
- Good knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
