We're recruiting a Band 5-6 Minor Injuries Practitioner on the Isles of Scilly.

Main duties of the job

You need to have a passion for minor injury care, good communication skills, and a commitment to providing excellent care as part of the MIU team. You must be responsive to change and flexible in your approach as we are in an exciting period of development for the MIU service. A sound knowledge of professional issues will be required.

To deliver, without supervision, effective assessment and treatment of patients utilising evidence based approach. Responsible for the care needs, the management of treatment and evaluation of clinical interventions, reflecting the needs of patients attending this unit.

Responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care in unit.

Education & Qualifications

Essential criteria

Post-registration experience - hospital/front line experience in an urgent care environment
Current professional registration – 1 st Level NMC/HCPC
Professional qualification – NURC 315 or equivalent academically recognised minor injury qualification

Desirable criteria

Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations certificate

Experience/Skills and Aptitude

Essential criteria

IT literate
Ability and willingness to undertake degree level education and training
Organisational skills
