The Little Sock Company is an award-winning independent children’s accessories brand based in Berkhamsted.
We create thoughtfully designed socks, tights, leggings, booties and footwear for babies and young children, with a focus on comfort, quality and products that genuinely make parents’ lives easier.
We are a small, friendly and growing ecommerce business looking for an organised and proactive Ecommerce & Marketing Assistant to support the founder with the day-to-day running and continued growth of the brand.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a varied, hands-on position combining ecommerce administration, customer service and marketing support.
You will work closely with the founder and become an important part of our small team. The role would suit someone who is highly organised, digitally confident and comfortable taking ownership of regular responsibilities.
The position will initially be for approximately 12–16 hours per week, ideally spread across three days. There is potential for the role and working hours to grow as the business develops.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ecommerce and website
- Updating products, descriptions, images, collections and promotions on Shopify
- Checking the website for accuracy and keeping seasonal collections up to date
- Creating discount codes and helping prepare product launches and promotions
- Assisting with basic sales and website reporting
- Helping ensure the online customer journey runs smoothly
- Identifying simple opportunities to improve product presentation and online sales
Customer service and administration
- Responding warmly and professionally to routine customer enquiries
- Helping resolve delivery issues, returns, exchanges and replacements
- Liaising with our fulfilment team and delivery providers when required
- Maintaining accurate records, spreadsheets and campaign calendars
- Supporting general ecommerce and office administration
- Keeping tasks organised and following them through to completion
Email and marketing
- Helping prepare, build and schedule customer email campaigns
- Supporting seasonal promotions, product launches and marketing activity
- Coordinating campaign assets, copy, links and product information
- Checking emails carefully before they are scheduled
- Reviewing basic campaign results and identifying useful insights
- Ensuring marketing activity is completed accurately and on time
Creators, PR and social support
- Researching suitable influencers, TikTok creators and UGC creators
- Contacting creators and coordinating product gifting
- Maintaining accurate records of outreach, content and campaign results
- Organising influencer and PR samples
- Supporting the content calendar and scheduling approved content
- Assisting with charitable, PR and brand-awareness campaigns
ABOUT YOU
We would love to hear from someone who:
- Has previous hands-on experience in ecommerce, digital marketing or a similar role
- Has experience using Shopify or another ecommerce platform
- Has experience preparing email campaigns using Shopify Email or similar
- Is confident using spreadsheets and everyday digital systems
- Has excellent written English and strong attention to detail
- Is organised, dependable and capable of managing several priorities
- Takes initiative and enjoys finding solutions
- Can work independently once a task has been explained
- Understands the importance of friendly and thoughtful customer service
- Has an interest in ecommerce, consumer brands and social media
- Is happy working within a small team where the role will be varied
Experience with Canva, TikTok, Instagram, influencer marketing or PR coordination would be helpful but is not essential.
You do not need to be a senior marketing manager. We are looking for someone with a good foundation of practical experience who is keen to take ownership, learn and grow with the business.

- Flexible daytime hours may be available
- Potential for the position and working hours to grow over time
The first three months will provide a structured introduction to the business, with clear responsibilities and regular reviews. We are looking for someone who can develop into a long-term and trusted member of our small team.

LOCATION
The position is based in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. Applicants must be able to work regularly from our office.
