Overview
The Prep Rooms is seeking talented and self-motivated Self Employed Hair Stylists to join our dynamic team. We're a L'Oreal professional salon and work closely with the brand and its products. You will also benefit from using our in-house marketing team, driving sales through out the year, with lots of in house cross collab available with our Nail, Beauty and Dental teams. This is a real opportunity to earn BIG in a thriving salon, the only offering on the new Castle Hill development in Ebbsfleet. 50/50 split with the salon, with the salon providing products, environment, marketing, booking system etc.
This role offers the flexibility of working independently while providing exceptional hair styling and beauty services to clients. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hairstyling, a flair for customer service, and the ability to manage their own schedule effectively. As a self-employed professional, you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills in a supportive environment, offering a range of services including haircuts, colouring, styling, and specialised treatments such as eyelash extensions and makeup application. This position is perfect for someone looking to build their personal brand within the beauty industry while maintaining control over their work.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality hair styling services including cuts, colour, styling, and specialised treatments such as eyelash extensions and makeup application.
- Provide excellent customer service by understanding client needs and offering personalised advice.
- Manage appointments efficiently, ensuring punctuality and organisation within your schedule.
- Upsell additional services and retail products to enhance client satisfaction and business growth.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic workspace in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest trends, techniques, and industry best practices through continuous professional development.
- Collaborate with store management on promotional activities or events to attract new clients.
- Offer mentoring or guidance to junior staff or apprentices when required.
- Handle front desk duties such as greeting clients, managing bookings, and processing payments.
Skills
- Proven experience in hairdressing with expertise in barbering preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities.
- Experience in store management or overseeing salon operations is advantageous.
- Competence in eyelash extensions and makeup application is desirable.
- Ability to upsell products and services effectively while maintaining professionalism.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple appointments simultaneously.
- Friendly demeanour with strong interpersonal skills capable of mentoring junior team members.
- Proficient in using salon management software or booking systems.
