Are you an experienced Joinery Draughtsman with advanced Autodesk Inventor skills? James Wellesley Ltd, a leading high-end bespoke joinery company, is seeking a talented and detail-oriented CAD professional to join our workshop team in Kent.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Design & Draughting, you will play a key role in turning exceptional design concepts into precise, manufacturable reality. Your responsibilities will include:
- Producing highly detailed technical construction drawings and workshop manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
- Converting design briefs, sketches, and concepts into accurate 3D models and 2D production drawings.
- Creating comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs), cutting lists, and material purchase schedules.
- Integrating third-party elements including ironmongery, appliances, hardware, glass, and metalwork.
- Managing drawing revisions and version control through all project stages — from client approval to manufacturing and installation.
- Ensuring all drawings comply with health & safety, installation, and quality standards.
- Collaborating closely with Project Managers, workshop teams, and external designers/clients.
- Attending site visits and design meetings as required.

What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Joinery Draughtsman or Furniture Draughtsman in a bespoke or high-end joinery environment.
- Advanced, daily-user proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (essential).
- Strong knowledge of joinery construction methods, materials (timber, veneers, laminates, solid surfaces, metals, glass), and finishing techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, manufacturing-ready drawings.
- Good communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and clients.
Desirable:
- Experience with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD systems (with willingness to transition fully to Inventor).
