Full job description

Plant Operator (21T Excavator)

Location: Wessex Region (Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Hampshire & surrounding areas)

Salary: £39,500 – £47,000 per annum (based on an average 47.5-hour working week), with overtime opportunities.

aBartlett Contractors Ltd is a well-established civil engineering contractor with over 65 years of experience delivering major infrastructure and pipeline projects throughout Southern England. We specialise in water, environmental and heavy civil engineering works, operating our own modern fleet of plant and equipment and delivering projects for leading utility companies and tier 1 contractors.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Plant Operator to join our expanding team.

The Role

You will be operating primarily 21 tonne Kobelco on a variety of civil engineering and pipeline projects across the Wessex region.

Typical duties include:

Operating excavators safely and efficiently.
Excavating trenches for water and utility pipelines.
Working around live underground services.
Lifting operations using excavators.
Grading and reinstatement works.
Crushing & Screening works.
Bulk excavations including agricultural lagoons and wetland creation
Daily plant checks and routine maintenance.
Working closely with site managers, engineers and groundworkers.
Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Minimum 5 years' experience operating excavators.
Valid CPCS Blue Card or NPORS (must be CSCS Affiliated).
Excavator category covering machines from 3T to 21T.
Lifting Operations endorsement (A59C/A59D or equivalent).
Full UK driving licence.
Good understanding of safe digging practices around buried services.
Positive attitude with the ability to work as part of a team.

Desirable:

EUSR SHEA Water.
First Aid at Work.
CAT & Genny training.
180 Deg wheel digger CPCS
