Full job description

We are seeking an AI Search (GEO), SEO & Social Media Specialist to help expand our already strong online presence into the next generation of search.

Our website currently performs extremely strongly in traditional Google organic search, and our next objective is to achieve the same level of visibility across AI-powered search and recommendation platforms, including:

ChatGPT
Google Gemini
Google AI Overviews & AI Mode
Microsoft Copilot
Perplexity
Other emerging AI search platforms

The primary focus of this role will be Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) and AI Search Visibility — helping ensure our company and products are recognised, cited and recommended when customers use AI to research and purchase products within our industry.

The role will also include social media, website content, e-commerce product management and supporting our existing SEO and PPC activities.

Key ResponsibilitiesAI Search / GEO / AEO

Develop and implement strategies to increase our visibility across ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews/AI Mode, Copilot, Perplexity and other AI platforms.
Analyse why competitors may be appearing in AI-generated recommendations and identify opportunities to improve our visibility.
Monitor brand mentions, citations and recommendations across major AI search platforms.
Research the questions and conversational prompts potential customers use when researching our products through AI.
Optimise product, category and informational pages for AI search discoverability and citation.
Develop GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) and AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) strategies alongside our existing SEO.
Strengthen brand/entity authority and ensure consistent business and product information across the web.
Develop authoritative buying guides, FAQs, comparisons and informational content designed around real customer questions.
Improve structured website content and schema implementation where appropriate.
Identify opportunities for relevant external mentions, citations, digital PR and authoritative backlinks.
Track AI-search visibility against competitors and provide regular performance reports.
Stay ahead of developments in AI search and adapt our strategy as platforms evolve.

Website & Existing SEO

Protect and improve our existing strong Google organic search performance.
Upload and optimise products, categories, images and website content.
Maintain accurate product specifications, descriptions and pricing.
Monitor Google Search Console, Analytics and other SEO platforms.
Work with external SEO, PPC and development teams where required.
Ensure changes made for AI optimisation do not negatively affect existing organic rankings.

Social Media & Content

Manage and grow our presence across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and other relevant platforms.
Produce engaging videos, Reels, images and written content.
Use social content to strengthen brand authority and overall digital visibility.
Monitor industry trends and competitor activity.
Engage professionally with customers through comments and messages.
Analyse social performance and continuously improve content strategy.

Ideal Candidate

We are particularly interested in someone who understands that search behaviour is changing.

The successful candidate should have a strong understanding of traditional SEO but, importantly, be passionate about AI Search, GEO and AEO and understand how businesses can improve their chances of being discovered, cited and recommended by AI platforms.

Experience with e-commerce, content strategy, technical SEO, structured data, digital PR, social media and AI tools would be highly advantageous.

Main Objective

We already have strong visibility on traditional Google Search. Your challenge will be to help make our brand equally visible when customers ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI and other AI platforms what to buy and where to buy it.
