Head Dental Nurse

Location: Lanark Smile Studios
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time
Salary: From £14.50ph - higher rates for advanced qualified nurses

About Us

We are a friendly, patient focused practice committed to providing exceptional care in a welcoming and professional environment. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Head Dental Nurse to lead our nursing team and help maintain the highest standards of clinical care and compliance.

The Role

As Head Dental Nurse, you will combine hands on clinical nursing with leadership responsibilities. You will support the Practice Manager and clinical team, ensuring the smooth day to day running of the surgery while mentoring and developing the nursing team.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, supervise, and support the dental nursing team.
Ensure compliance with NHS, HTM, GDC, and cross infection control standards.
Assist clinicians during a wide range of dental procedures.
Coordinate daily surgery and staff rotas.
Manage stock control and ordering of clinical supplies.
Oversee equipment maintenance and decontamination procedures.
Induct, train, and mentor new team members.
Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
Promote a positive, supportive, and professional working environment.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

GDC registration as a Dental Nurse.
Previous experience in a senior or lead dental nursing role (Preferred but not essential)
Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
Knowledge of NHS requirements and infection prevention protocols.
Confidence using dental practice management software.
