We are looking for a hands-on E-commerce Systems Manager to take ownership of the systems and integrations that support our online retail operation.
You will manage and improve our e-commerce technology stack, with a particular focus on Shopify, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the platforms connecting our website, ERP, finance, customer service and third-party applications.
Working closely with e-commerce, marketing, operations, finance and customer service teams, you will translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. You will also manage external development and integration partners, ensuring systems remain reliable, projects are delivered successfully and data flows accurately across the business.
This role would suit someone with strong e-commerce systems knowledge who enjoys combining technical problem-solving, project delivery and supplier management.
Key Responsibilities
E-commerce Systems and Integrations
- Take ownership of the day-to-day performance and continuous improvement of our e-commerce systems.
- Manage integrations between Shopify, Microsoft Dynamics 365, customer service platforms, finance systems and third-party applications.
- Ensure accurate product, inventory, order, customer and financial data across all platforms.
- Monitor system and integration performance, investigating and resolving issues quickly.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, reliability and operational efficiency.
- Ensure systems can support business growth and increasing order volumes.
Shopify and ERP Management
Act as the main business owner for:
- Shopify
- Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Power Automate
- APIs, middleware and integration platforms
- E-commerce reporting and dashboards
- Connected customer service and operational systems
Maintain system roadmaps and prioritise improvements in line with commercial and operational requirements.
Agency and Supplier Management
- Manage Shopify developers, digital agencies, integration specialists and technology suppliers.
- Define project requirements, priorities and technical scopes.
- Review proposals, estimates, timelines and deliverables.
- Monitor project progress, quality and budgets.
- Ensure appropriate documentation and handovers are completed.
Project Delivery
- Lead e-commerce systems projects from requirements gathering through to implementation.
- Coordinate stakeholders across e-commerce, marketing, finance, operations and customer service.
- Translate business needs into clear technical requirements.
- Manage testing, deployment, change control and post-launch support.
- Identify project risks, dependencies and operational impacts.
- Lead continuous improvement and automation projects.
Reporting and Data
- Maintain accurate and consistent data across Shopify, Dynamics 365 and connected systems.
- Support the development of e-commerce, operational and financial reporting.
- Investigate data and reporting discrepancies.
- Improve visibility through effective dashboards and reporting tools.
Stakeholder Support
- Provide technical guidance to internal teams and external partners.
- Explain technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Create and maintain system documentation and process guides.
- Support system training, adoption and process improvements.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Experience managing business-critical e-commerce systems and integrations.
- Strong knowledge of Shopify and the wider e-commerce technology environment.
- Experience working with ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Good understanding of e-commerce processes, including product data, inventory, orders, fulfilment, customer data and payments.
- Experience working with APIs, middleware and data integrations.
- Experience managing external development agencies or technology suppliers.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
The successful candidate will be technically confident, commercially aware and comfortable taking ownership of the systems that underpin a growing e-commerce business.
