The post holder will provide management, leadership and support to a team of staff leading on strategic operational policy and pathways within specialist areas for the Trust for the wider Adult Nutrition and Dietetic Service.
The role will mainly focus on service leadership rather than direct clinical delivery but may have some element dependent on skills and will include responsibility for workforce planning, service development, quality improvement, governance, performance management and supporting the delivery of strategic objectives. The post holder will work collaboratively with pathway leads and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective and sustainable services, while supporting staff development, recruitment, retention and succession planning.
Applicants should have experience of working at a senior level in Dietetics together with significant leadership and management experience; able to work within and manage a team, demonstrate time management skills and initiative. Having an awareness of current issues in Nutrition and Dietetics, you will have evidence of critical appraisal skills, implementation of evidence based practice and demonstrated knowledge of research and audit as well as clinical governance and risk assessment.
The post holder will provide operational and professional leadership across the SIM, respiratory, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, critical care and intestinal failure pathways, whilst contributing to the management and development of the wider Adult Nutrition and Dietetic Service.
The role will focus on strategic and operational leadership, including workforce planning, service improvement, quality and governance, recruitment and retention, financial management and delivery of service objectives. The successful candidate will work closely with pathway clinical leads and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective and sustainable services and will contribute to wider departmental and organisational priorities.
Applicants should demonstrate experience of working at a senior level within clinical dietetic pathways together with significant leadership and management experience.
The post holder will join the adult nutrition and dietetic department comprising of approximately 75 wte staff working across a wide range of acute and specialist pathways, many of which are regional. We are aiming to develop our research portfolio further and support everyone to progress with their career ambitions across the 4 pillars of practice. We are proud of staff feedback which reflected the support provided by their colleagues was the main reason people work and stay within the department.
The Nutrition and Dietetic Department provides regular professional development events, and hosts training to A, B and C placement students. You will be actively involved in the development, implementation and audit of patient care practices as part of Clinical Governance.
