Job description
Sadly for us (but great news for them!), one of our team is retiring so we have an opening at The London Road Chiropractic Clinic for an experienced receptionist to join our existing team. This role will be for 16 hours a week 3 weeks a month, 6 hours a week for the 4th week of the month. Therefore 54 hours every 4 weeks.
The hours would be Thursday 7.30am- 1.30pm and then job share with another member of our team on Fridays where you would do 2 out of every 3 Fridays. Friday shifts are 10 hours: 7.30am - 5.30pm. There would also be an expectation to pick up shifts if there is sickness or holiday cover.
Example Shift Pattern:
Week 1: Thursday 7.30am – 1.30pm
Friday 7.30am – 5.30pm
Week 2: Thursday 7.30am – 1.30pm
Friday 7.30am – 5.30pm
Week 3: Thursday 7.30am – 1.30pm
Week 4: Week 2: Thursday 7.30am – 1.30pm
Friday 7.30am – 5.30pm
Week 5: Thursday 7.30am – 1.30pm
Friday 7.30am – 5.30pm
Week 6: Thursday 7.30am – 1.30pm
We would expect the start date to be 3rd August 2026 (or as close to) to allow for 3 weeks of shadowing and training with all members of the team across different days. This initial period will fall on days different to the actual job role which would commence properly on Thursday 3rd September 2026. We will be able to arrange the shadowing and training so that it works for everyone and will work together to draw up a timetable with whomever is selected for the job and accepts the role. The 3 week shadowing/training period will be paid at £12 an hour.

Key duties and responsibilities:
· To meet and greet patients and visitors in a kind, friendly manner;
· To direct patients to the correct Chiropractor;
· To book/amend/cancel appointments on the electronic diary system (experience using JaneApp or similar desirable but not compulsory);
· Answering the phone and dealing with enquiries;
· Taking payments in person and over the phone;
· Checking and responding to voicemails from the weekend or previous night upon arrival at the clinic;
· Registering new patients onto the computer system;
· Ensuring that the Chiropractors have their patient files for the day and that all used files are then tidied away accurately in our well established filing system (incorrect filing leads to lost files);
· Monitoring the Clinic emails throughout the day ensuring patient enquires are responded to in an appropriate and timely manner;
· Count all of the cash takings at the end of the day and reconcile those, and the card takings, with the diary system;
· Keeping the reception area clean and tidy;
· Participate in clinic meetings, training and other activities.
