About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Stores Supervisor to join our Ground Engineering team working on the Sizewell C project in Leiston, Suffolk.
Be part of this ‘once in a generation’ project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2 Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable load low-carbon electricity.
The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies: Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O’Rourke.

Role purpose: To manage the day-to-day operation of the stores/warehouse, ensuring all plant, equipment, and materials are controlled, stored and issued efficiently, safely and in line with company procedures
What you'll be doing
- Oversee day-to-day stores activities, including the receiving, storage, issuing, and dispatch of materials and plant equipment;
- Maintain accurate stock control, ensuring inventory records are up to date and clearly documented;
- Coordinate deliveries and collections to support smooth site operations and minimise disruption;
- Carry out regular stock checks and investigate any discrepancies in a timely and effective manner;
- Ensure all stores transactions are supported by the correct documentation and audit trail;
- Supervise and coordinate stores personnel, allocating daily tasks and managing workloads efficiently;
- Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to maintain high standards of performance;
- Ensure all stores activities are carried out in line with health, safety, environmental, and compliance requirements;
- Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient stores environment at all times;
- Ensure the correct handling, storage, and disposal of materials in accordance with company procedures;
- Liaise with site teams, plant, and procurement to ensure materials and equipment are available when required;
- Identify opportunities to improve stores processes, drive efficiency, support cost control, and promote best practice.
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will have the following qualities, skills and experience:
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage priorities effectively;
- Previous experience within a stores, warehouse, logistics, or similar operational environment;
- A good understanding of plant, tools, equipment, and materials, ideally within construction or piling;
- Experience supervising, supporting, or leading a small team;
- Confident communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across site teams and stakeholders;
- Good IT skills, including experience using stock systems, Excel, and Word;
- A proactive approach to workload management, deadlines, accuracy, and accountability;
- Awareness of health and safety requirements, with a commitment to promoting safe working practices;
- A forklift licence, logistics qualification, warehouse qualification, or health and safety training would be desirable;
- A positive, team-focused approach, leading by example and maintaining high standards in everything you do.
