Advantage Tuition, based in Maidstone, is currently recruiting for part-time tutors to join our small team of experienced teachers.
As a lead maths or science tutor, you will be responsible for the delivery of science (KS3 /GCSE level) or maths tuition (KS3/GCSE level) to small groups of learners within our classroom. We are also recruiting experienced tutors to provide 1:1 support to individual learners.
The weekly sessions will run after school, mainly during term time. Our classes are primarily delivered 'in person' at our tuition centre in central Maidstone.
We welcome applicants of all ages, and this role will suit current or retired teachers as additional income. A QTS qualification - or significant teaching experience - is essential for this role.
Are you:

Key responsibilities of this role may include some or all of the above:
- To lead the delivery of one or more of our maths or science small group tuition or 1:1 programmes
- To help set up and clear away the space before and after class (if applicable)
- To accurately mark and record students’ work and complete reporting methods
- To ensure students work effectively
- To support, supervise students and maintain discipline
- To liaise with/keep good working relationships with parents
- To attend training and meetings as required (please note that training may take place outside of class hours)
- To carry out all reasonable duties as and when requested by the Director
- To understand and comply with all policies and procedures, including safeguarding requirements to ensure the safety of all pupils within the centre.
