Purpose
Participation as an active and flexible Quality department team member to provide Quality Control services for the Endeavour Supply Chain Organisation and Spatone production operations. To provide training and support to all other analysts and to support the QC Manager in the daily Quality Control demands from production which include sampling and testing of raw material & finished product, support to the validation team, the provision of accurate, approved data to the Quality Assurance team for review and ensure adherence to Good Laboratory Practices within the laboratory.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all training relevant to the position and required tasks are completed and kept up to date. Use assigned initials within cGMP environment.
- All documentation relating to Nelson’s products are kept within Quality Management System (QMS) and adhere to Data Integrity (see POL-002).
- Understanding and adhering to cGMP environment requirements.
- Assist with the review and management of all QC Processes
- Ensure timely sampling and testing of all raw materials, packaging components and finished product according to specification.
- Assist with the daily management of all QC Processes including Q-Pulse training/Q-Pulse action adherence for the QC department.
- The management of Q-Pulse asset module ensuring equipment is qualified, validated and the scheduling of all calibration activities.
- Manage the review of QC SOP/WI in a timely manner.
- Assist with the ongoing training to all analysts in laboratory methods.
- Approve analysis worksheets performed by QC Analysts.
- Sample and test all incoming raw materials, bulk and finished products.
- Regular review and application of all applicable pharmacopeia methods and updates.
- Ensure that all Out of Specification (OOS) results are reported and investigated via the correct procedures
- Perform analysis, examination or investigations as required on behalf of the company.
- Supply written reports as necessary on request
- Assist the validation team with Method Transfer, Process & Equipment validation projects within the laboratory.
- Ensure all data is stored and entered in the correct file.
- Contribute to the investigation of customer complaints as required
- Ensure the laboratory is maintained in a clean and tidy condition, including the removal of laboratory waste
- Ensure all retained samples are kept and stored correctly.
- Liaise effectively with staff from other departments
- Involvement in other QMS responsibilities as required
- Develop objectives and personal development plans with direct reports.
Requirements
We would love you to have
Education / Qualifications Degree level or above in a Science subject
- Supervisor experience in an analytical laboratory role
- Experience in analytical test method development and validation
- Experience in conducting Out of Specification (OOS) Investigations
- Ability to plan and prioritise work accordingly to production needs
- Hands on/Active team member assisting with coaching of peers
- Ability to use work instructions and specifications for testing of products and raw materials
- A good interpretation & practical knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) & Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
- Strong report writing skills
- A good level of wet bench chemistry skills
- Good Attention to detail
- Practical and organised approach
- Experience or knowledge of High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatograph (GC) techniques
- Experience of working in a regulated laboratory environment.
Bonus if you have
- Experience in the use of pharmacopeia’s or knowledge of TLC techniques
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP
- Experience of pharmaceutical production processes for tablets, liquids and creams
- Basic knowledge of microbiology
