Band 5 Pharmacy Technician – (Rotational)

Job Details:

Contract type: Full-time, permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Monday to Sunday, 8:30am to 7:30pm (rota basis)
Salary: Band 5 equivalent

We have an exciting opportunity for a Rotational Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at The London Clinic, based in Central London. This role offers a Band 5 salary equivalent and is ideal for a motivated technician looking to broaden their experience across multiple pharmacy services.

About the Pharmacy Department:

The London Clinic’s Pharmacy Department is a collaborative and supportive team of around 45 staff, delivering high-quality services to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Our department operates across nine core service areas:

On-Call Services
Dispensary
Distribution and Top-Up Services
Procurement
Clinical Ward Pharmacy Services
Aseptic/Technical Services
Clinical Governance
Education and Training

We also provide extensive oncology services, supported by a purpose-built chemotherapy aseptic compounding suite, alongside an automated medication dispensing system that enhances medicines management across multiple wards.

Role Overview:

As a Rotational Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in delivering a safe, efficient, and accurate pharmacy service. This post offers structured rotations through Dispensary, Distribution, and Procurement, with the opportunity to progress into Ward-Based Services.

You will ensure all services are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with current legislation, policies, and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver a safe, efficient, and accurate dispensing service, including controlled drugs
Support and coordinate workflow within the dispensary, ensuring SOP compliance
Manage day-to-day ordering of medicines and consumables
Raise orders for TPN, consumables, and stock as required
Support ward-based medicines management alongside pharmacists and senior technicians
Contribute to maintaining high standards of patient care and service delivery

Essential Skills and Experience:

NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent qualification)
Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
Evidence of continuing professional development
Experience of working in an acute hospital setting
Strong organisational, communication, and teamwork skills
