Full job description

Head of Marketing

Lincoln Cathedral
Salary: £40,000–£45,000, dependent on experience
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Closing date: 31 August 2026
Interview date: 18 September 2026

Lincoln Cathedral is seeking an experienced and creative Head of Marketing to lead the strategic planning and delivery of marketing across one of England’s most significant heritage and faith organisations.

Working closely with the Commercial Director, you will develop and deliver marketing campaigns that increase visitor numbers, strengthen audience engagement, grow brand awareness and support commercial income.

This is a strategic and hands-on role. You will lead a small marketing team while overseeing digital marketing, website development, content, communications, campaign performance and the Cathedral’s brand.

About you

You will have:

Experience in a senior marketing role.
Strong strategic and operational marketing experience.
Significant digital marketing experience, including websites, social media and email.
Excellent storytelling, copywriting and editorial skills.
Experience using data and analytics to improve performance.
Strong leadership, budget management and organisational skills.

Experience within the heritage, cultural, charitable, tourism, visitor attraction or faith sectors would be advantageous.
