We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading UK provider of complex care for an experienced Clinical Skills Trainer to join their growing team across Surrey.

You'll be working alongside experienced clinical and learning & development leaders, helping to ensure staff across a range of complex care services have the knowledge, skills and confidence required to provide safe, high-quality care.
The role
This is a home-based, field-based position, covering services across Surrey.
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- Home-based with travel throughout Surrey
- Occasional overnight stays may be required
You'll have a high level of autonomy in the role, managing your own schedule while working closely with the wider clinical and training teams.
Your responsibilities
As a Clinical Skills Trainer, you'll be responsible for delivering and assessing a broad range of clinical competencies, including:
- Medication administration
- Continence care
- Insulin administration
- Bowel management
- Neurogenic Bowel Management
- Buccal midazolam
- Rectal medication administration
- Suction
- Tracheostomy care
- Ventilation
- Enteral feeding
- Catheterisation
- Other specialist clinical skills relevant to the services
You'll deliver both group and one-to-one training, adapting your approach to different levels of experience and individual learning needs.
You'll also:
- Assess and sign off clinical competencies.
- Support the ongoing development of Support Workers, Healthcare Assistants, Rehabilitation Assistants, Nurses and other relevant colleagues.
- Work closely with nursing and learning & development teams to identify and address training needs.
- Help develop and improve clinical training resources and materials.
- Keep your clinical knowledge and training practice up to date with current evidence and best practice.
- Promote a positive learning environment that encourages confidence and professional development.
- Identify and escalate any concerns that could impact quality of care or staff and patient safety.
- Attend relevant meetings and contribute to the wider clinical training strategy.
- Maintain your own professional development and clinical competence.
What we're looking for
We're keen to speak with
NMC-registered nurses who have a strong understanding of complex care and enjoy developing others.
You'll ideally have:
- Current NMC registration - essential
- Recent experience delivering clinical training within a complex care environment
- Experience supporting individuals with conditions such as spinal injuries, acquired brain injury, learning disabilities and neurological conditions
- Strong clinical knowledge and confidence in delivering practical clinical skills training
- Excellent communication, coaching and presentation skills
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- A proactive and engaging approach to training and development
- A recognised teaching, assessing or mentorship qualification, such as Teaching & Assessing, Mentorship, Safer People Handling Trainer/Assessor — or a willingness to work towards one
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- The flexibility to travel across Surrey and occasionally stay away overnight
