About Unearth PR

Unearth PR is a fast-growing PR and personal branding agency based in Plymouth, UK. We work with brands, founders, and creators to grow their presence in the press and through their personal brand strategies across socials including TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Substack.

Our clients cover varying industries such as travel, interiors, fashion, and media. We represent brands including Steven Bartlett's FlightStory, Solmar Villas, Laura James Home, and more.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a PR & Marketing Assistant to join our team for 21 hours per week (3 days). This is a part-time contractor role, and we’re flexible about which days/hours you work, making it easy to fit around university or other existing work commitments.

This role is perfectly suited to a creative individual with strong copywriting skills. Our perfect candidate has a natural ability to write, without AI support, although no previous professional writing experience is required.

We're looking for someone who enjoys everything about the world of social media, PR, and marketing and wants to learn more. You’ll love marketing campaigns and following industry news on social media, keeping up-to-date with all the goings on in the world of marketing, PR, and brand.

Day-to-day, you’ll be learning from two key members of our team: Our Co-founder and PR Director will show you the ropes on all things PR, teaching you how to run PR campaigns from start-to-finish, the does and don’ts of working with journalists, and everything you need to know for a successful career in PR.

You’ll also work alongside our Creative PR and Marketing Executive, shadowing and supporting to write content for our social media - primarily on our Instagram and TikTok accounts (@unearthpr).

The role with be a 50/50 split between PR and social media marketing.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting our Creative PR and Marketing Executive, you will:

Gain hands-on experience supporting the rollout of our social media strategy across TikTok, Instagram, and other key platforms.
Help ideate and develop creative concepts for organic social media content.
Monitor social trends alongside PR, brand, and marketing news within the industry.
Create and write our viral ‘PR Moments’ social posts.

Supporting our Co-founder and PR Director, you will:

Learn how to build effective media lists for PR campaign pitching
Write press releases for client campaigns
Plan an outreach strategy and pitch stories to journalists
Support with PR reporting and coverage tracking

About You

This is an entry-level role, so no prior professional experience is required. We’re looking for someone who:

Has excellent English written communication skills - as writing without AI support is a key part of this role.
Is enthusiastic about learning and growing within PR and marketing.
Is organised and detail-oriented, with strong time management skills.
Is comfortable using tools like Google Sheets and social media platforms.
Is comfortable with numbers and basic data analysis.
Is creative and eager to contribute ideas for campaigns and content.
Can be flexible and able to jump on varying support tasks.
Isn’t afraid to ask questions and use their unique voice to contribute their ideas.
Has access to the basic tech required for a remote contractor role, including strong Wi-Fi, a laptop, and a mobile device.
