We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Joiner to join HMS, part of Torus Group. You’ll play a key role in delivering a high-quality, efficient and responsive service to our customers, working across occupied and void properties. You’ll carry out a wide range of joinery works and associated multi-skilled tasks, contributing to our “one job, one visit” approach while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship, safety and customer care.
What You Will Be Doing:

Carry out all aspects of internal and external joinery, including plastic and composite products, maintenance and remedial works

Undertake associated trade tasks (e.g. basic plastering, tiling and plumbing) to support efficient service delivery

Plan and organise work effectively to meet priority response times and performance targets

Work within scheduled appointment systems, liaising directly with customers and colleagues
-
Diagnose faults, carry out pre-measuring and determine repair requirements in line with contractual guidelines

Supervise and support apprentices or trainees when required
-
Use IT and mobile devices to receive instructions, complete work orders and order materials

Ensure accurate completion of all documentation and system updates

Drive and maintain a company vehicle, stock and equipment responsibly

Manage materials efficiently, minimising waste and delays

Comply fully with Health & Safety requirements and safe systems of work

Participate in training, development and competency programmes

Work collaboratively with schedulers, planners, customer liaison officers and contractors

Take part in an out-of-hours rota when required (additional payment applies)
What We’re Looking For:
-
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Joinery or relevant craft discipline
-
CSCS card at the appropriate level
-
Experience in multi-skilled trade activities
-
Full UK or EU driving licence
-
Completed apprenticeship (time served)
-
Proven experience in joinery, building maintenance and construction
-
Strong customer service skills
-
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
-
Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
-
Experience supervising or supporting apprentices
