Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior CAD Technician (Architectural or Structural) to join our dynamic design team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced skills in computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D design, with a strong background in construction design. This full-time role offers an opportunity to work on innovative projects across various sectors, contributing to detailed technical working drawings that meet high standards of quality and precision. The Senior CAD Technician will play a pivotal role in supporting project development from conceptualisation through to detailed design, ensuring all deliverables adhere to industry standards and client specifications.

Duties

Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and SketchUp.
Create comprehensive schematics and system designs for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers and clients to interpret design requirements and translate them into precise technical drawings.
Assist in the review and modification of existing designs to improve functionality or compliance with project specifications.
Prepare detailed documentation for construction.
Maintain organised CAD libraries and ensure all drawings are up-to-date with latest revisions.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members regarding CAD best practices and software proficiency.
Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.

Qualifications

Proven expertise in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, and other relevant programmes.
Strong background in construction with practical experience in residential developments.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
Relevant qualifications in architecture, engineering, or a related field are preferred but not essential if complemented by extensive professional experience.

Projects undertaken
