Contract: Banking

Location: Edinburgh, EH2 2LL

Hours: 4 on / 4 off - days and nights (42 hours)

Contract Type: Permanent

We are seeking a Senior Security Supervisor to report to the Lead Security Supervisor and take responsibility for the leadership, management, and operational effectiveness of Guarding Services.

The role is integral to supporting a safe and efficient operating environment, supervising Guarding Teams and ensuring the delivery of high-quality security services and incident response.

Job Description

The successful candidate will lead Guarding teams in the delivery of operational and technical security services, oversee incident management activities, maintain compliance with operational standards, and support the continuous improvement of security operations.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership, direction, and support to Security Supervisors and Guarding staff, promoting professionalism, accountability, and development.
Ensure Guarding operations are staffed with appropriately trained and accredited personnel in line with contractual and regulatory requirements.
Lead and coordinate the response to technical, physical, and resilience incidents, ensuring effective command, control, and communication.
Maintain oversight of integrated security systems and building management systems, supporting effective operation and issue resolution.
Support SaRCC operations as required to ensure continuity of service.
Ensure compliance with operational procedures, assignment instructions, risk assessments, and organisational policies.
Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, local police, and external security providers to support prevention, detection, and intelligence-led activities.
Oversee recruitment, training, performance management, financial record keeping, and documentation associated with Guarding Services.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Proven leadership and resource management experience within a security or related environment.
Experience working in operations or security control room settings.
Strong incident management, command, and control experience.
Technical understanding of integrated security systems.
Ability to make effective decisions under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, intranet systems, and email.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Reliable, responsible, self-motivated, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Security sector experience.
Valid driving licence.
Valid SIA Guarding licence.
