Full job description

Location: Portmanmoor Road Industrial Estate, Cardiff

Hours: Part-time (approximately 3 days per week) or full time available

Salary: £12.71 per hour

Overtime: Additional hours may be available

Start date: To be agreed, immediate start available

About the Role

We are a small, family-run business specialising in innovative ride-on golf scooters. We are looking for a practical, hands-on Workshop Technician to support the assembly, servicing, and day-to-day running of our workshop.

This is a varied role ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving technical problems, and supporting a growing business. An interest in golf is a bonus, but not necessary.

Key responsibilities

Assembling FliCart ride-on golf scooters using hand tools and workshop equipment
Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs
Diagnosing and fault-finding mechanical and basic electrical issues
Checking-in deliveries and managing stock and inventory
Packing and preparing products for dispatch
Supporting customers with technical enquiries
Following standard operating procedures and quality checks
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
Using appropriate PPE at all times
Supporting general ad-hoc tasks to help the business operate smoothly

Essential Skills & Experience

Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a similar technical, mechanical, or workshop environment
Confident using hand tools for manual assembly
Basic soldering skills
Practical fault-finding and problem-solving ability
Comfortable speaking with customers and explaining technical matters clearly
Able to follow procedures accurately and consistently
Strong attention to detail
Reliable, self-motivated, and organised
Willing to work flexibly as part of a small team

Desirable (but not essential)

Experience with small electric vehicles, scooters, bikes, or mobility equipment
Stock control or warehouse experience
Experience in a small business environment
Driving license and vehicle
