Job Title: Materials Engineer
Division: FTV Proclad International Limited and Production Induction Bending
Hours of Work: Full-time– 37 hours per week.

FTV Proclad International Limited is a worldwide market and technological leader in the protective weld cladding of pipeline components covering Oil & Gas, UK Ministry of Defense and Renewables. In this position, you won’t just be analysing metals — you’ll be shaping the performance, reliability, and future of the products that depend on them. As part of our technical team, you’ll play a key role in driving innovation, improving processes, and ensuring the highest standards of quality. The primary duties and responsibilities are listed as follows:
- Supporting the business by performing technical reviews of project specifications, drawings, purchase orders and national standards to validate compliance at quotation stage.
- Liaising directly with internal and external stakeholders on materials engineering /metallurgy matters.
- Ensuring that all allocated work scopes are fully compliant withapplicable product and quality standards
- Supporting quality review forums, aimed at reducing any rework.Responsibilities will include the creation of performance related dispositions,identifying any corrective actions and preventative measures for any materials/ induction bend quality issues that may arise.
- Assisting with the development of new and existing equipment.
- Supportingthe continuous development and improvement of induction bending procedures andpolicies that will enhance business practices.
- Translating drawings and design requirements into bend requirements anddeveloping the method of qualification in-line with the relevant codes,standards and client specifications
- Preparing / reviewing all documents required for production bendingensuring that all the areas of the contract are addressed and recorded.
- Detailing all heat treatment requirements to production and reviewingdocumentation on completion of heat treatment.
- Development, qualification, and application of bending procedures. Preparing/reviewing all procedures and procedure qualifications to ensuretheir suitability for the required contract (relevant national/internationalstandards and client specification).
- Controlling chemical, corrosion, and mechanical testing, assessing testresults in accordance with the contract requirements
- Reviewing the suitability of bending equipment for the scope of work required and providing an input for necessary maintenance and calibration of bending equipment.
Skills Experience and Qualifications
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and experience in a similar role
- Minimum of Material Science Technologist (Level 6), Materials Process Engineer (Level7) qualification or a degree specializing in a specific group of materials and their uses, such as metallurgy, materials engineering.
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Knowledge and experience of hot forming processes.
- Knowledge of materials standards
- Proficient with Microsoft outlook, word, and excel packages.
Desirable Skills &Experience.
One of the following qualifications would be desirable.
- Member of a professional institution (i.e. IOM3)
- Previous experience in the Oil & Gas sector is desirable but not essential.
- Working knowledge of Q-Pulse
