Full-Time | Permanent

At Jackson Steel we’re a family-run company with nearly 80 years of history behind us. With a close-knit team of 25 full-time employees, we pride ourselves on loyalty, teamwork, and looking after our people.

Due to a promotion, we are currently seeking an experienced coded Welder to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role, you will be a part of a team of Welders, delivering high-quality steel structures across a variety of projects throughout Scotland.

We’re looking for a fully qualified and experienced coded Welder with at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

Fabricating and Welding Components according to specifications and engineering drawings.
Accurately measuring and setting, working to close tolerances.
Operating hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Working efficiently to meet deadlines.
MIG welding to a high standard, free from defects and weld splatter.
Checking all work and completing Quality Assurance records.
Moving steelwork around workshop using overhead cranes
Keeping equipment in good working order - daily inspecting of all plant and equipment and reporting any defects to company management.
Keeping work areas clean and tidy, general good housekeeping.
Working in a safe manner - complying with all company policy and Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
Any other duties as required (drilling holes, painting steel).
