Senior Finance Assistant | 10975 | Permanent Contract | 37 hours per week | £32,061 to £33,699 per annum (Scale G) | County Hall, Norwich
We are looking for a full-time Senior Finance Assistant to join the Budgeting and Accounting Team here at Norfolk County Council and play a key role in helping to deliver a first class budgeting and accounting service across the organisation. Norfolk County Council are the main local authority for Norfolk providing services countywide to Norfolk residents. We take a lead in critical policy areas, and we work in partnership with local businesses, voluntary organisations and other local authorities to provide the people of Norfolk with excellent services.
Our Budgeting and Accounting Team are a critical part of our organisation, providing support across the breadth of our services to ensure that we’re accountable as a council, and that taxpayers are receiving the best possible value for money. Working in a large and complex environment currently going through a significant period of transformational change, you’ll be part of a talented, proactive team that makes a real difference and is able to support the continual evolution and long-term objectives of the council.
The core focus of the role is to work closely with our services to support day to day budgeting and accounting requirements. As a local authority, we are accountable to our tax payers and it’s critical that we are able to maintain a high standard of professional accounting, and that our finances and budgets are transparent and accurate.
You will be a financially minded individual with excellent communication skills and be able to build strong working relationships with both financial and non-financial individuals at all levels. You will be able to demonstrate sound financial judgement, able to plan and prioritise effectively, and have excellent data and financial analysis skills.
