About the Role
Construo Recruitment is working in partnership with a specialist home improvement and construction business to recruit an experienced Surveyor / Project Surveyor to join their growing team.
This is a varied role involving site surveys, project costing, planning applications, quality inspections, and customer liaison across bespoke residential projects including conservatories, orangeries, porches, extensions, and structural alterations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are accurately surveyed, compliant with regulations, and delivered to a high standard from pre-construction through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake detailed site surveys for conservatories, orangeries, porches, extensions, and structural openings
Assess underground services and site constraints
Prepare project costings and technical information
Carry out quality control inspections throughout project delivery
Liaise directly with customers and provide a professional on-site presence
Support bespoke residential construction and refurbishment projects
Submit planning applications via the Government Planning Portal
Prepare and submit documentation for build over agreements with water authorities
Interpret building regulation and planning drawings
Liaise with Building Control and ensure compliance throughout projects
Support health & safety compliance across all works
Requirements
Minimum 2 years’ continuous experience in a similar surveying or project role
Strong understanding of current Building Regulations and Planning Laws
Experience dealing with planning applications and Building Control
Understanding of structural openings, lintels, and steelwork installations
Knowledge of build over agreements and water authority requirements
Good communication skills with experience dealing directly with customers
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Reliable, punctual, and professional approach
Desirable Skills:
AutoCAD experience for working drawings and planning applications
Experience with SAP report requirements
Experience in conservatory, orangery, or atrium roof systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and general IT systems
