Full job description

Graduate Underwriter : Bridging Finance

Team : Underwriting team (Bridging Finance)

SALARY : £25,000-32,000 or above, depending on experience

Languages Needed: English

Contract type: Permanent role

Location : Cheadle

Company details

SDKA Ltd is an award-winning and leading specialist finance lender based in Cheadle Royal, Greater Manchester.

We are looking to expand the team and require an Graduate Underwriter to assist the underwriting team with day to day operations.

Duties

You will be responsible for supporting with the entire lending process from application through to drawdown.

Checking documents completed, signed and witnessed correctly including security documentation such as legal charges and debentures
Opening new folders
Saving, renaming and organising files and attachments
Merging documents and creating pdf files
Validating and verifying information provided in relation to applicants and solicitors
Carrying out KYC/AML checks
Obtaining valuation quotes and liaising with valuers
Reviewing valuations
Updating case notes
Checking all relevant registers including: SRA / HMT / Companies House/ disqualified directors / Insolvency Register / London Gazette
Liaising with internal departments (Legal, Risk and Sales) and instructing and liaising with external parties (Surveyors, Solicitors and Customers) to effectively manage the lending process

Requirements

Would suit someone with a degree in finance, banking, law, insurance or property. No previous experience needed in bridging finance but must be keen to learn and develop.

Excellent analytical skills
Ability to plan, organise, prioritise and manage time
Strong attention to detail
Professional communications skills, able to communicate with businesses and colleagues by telephone, email and face to face
Highly motivated individual, committed to providing outstanding service to customers and clients
Precise written and verbal communication skills
IT proficient (including Microsoft outlook, Teams, word and excel)
Organisational skills – this is paramount and must be able to prioritise, multitask and meet strict deadlines
Proactive and able to take own initiative

This is an office based role

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: £28,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
