Richard Jackson Ltd is a well-established and growing consultancy, and we are looking for an HR Manager to join our team and play a key role in supporting our people, culture and continued growth.
This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working across all areas of HR and wants to be a trusted partner to managers and employees. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of a broad range of HR activities, from recruitment, employee relations and performance management through to learning and development, policies, employee engagement and supporting our wider business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Supervise HR staff, assign daily duties, and mentor junior personnel.
Employee Relations: Resolve workplace disputes, manage disciplinary actions, and coach line managers.
Compliance & Policy: Ensure adherence to employment laws, data protection regulations, and internal company standards.
Talent Strategy: Oversee recruitment pipelines, onboarding workflows, and compensation reviews.
Main Duties:
- Providing expert and pragmatic HR advise to the business based on sound employment law knowledge and assessing the risk to the business
- Ownership of employee relations activity including disciplinary, grievance, appeal, absence management and probationary review processes
- Leading on performance concerns and disciplinary action with staff members
- Actively support and drive the company values throughout the business
- Review and revision of company policies and procedures
- Developing and implementing new processes to help the organisation offer a better workplace for staff
- Avoiding legal challenges by complying with legal requirements
- Work in collaboration with senior management to establish succession planning and talent growth across the business
- Lead the development of the performance management process
- Lead in collaboration with senior management on all recruiting matters
- Maintains accurate human resources records
- Writing job descriptions to attract quality candidates
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading employment legislation updates

Person Specification
Knowledge / Experience / Qualifications:
- Professional certifications such as CIPD Level 5 or 7 preferred but not essential
- Ideally requires 5 years plus of progressive HR experience
- Strong command of UK employment law, conflict resolution, budgeting, and data analysis
- Experience and good understanding of all aspects of HR management including employee relations, resourcing, talent management/succession planning and change management
- Commercially savvy, able to understand and propose cost effective solutions to business problems
- Strategic thinker with proven experience of developing and implementing creative and successful solutions
- Ability to handle multiple projects / issues
- Able to motivate individuals to work collaboratively as a team
- Able to quickly develop successful client relationships (internal and external)
- Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines is essential
- Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal)
- A passion for working with people
