This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lecturer, trainer or industry professional from the travel, tourism, aviation or cabin crew sectors to share their expertise and support learners in achieving their career ambitions. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching, supporting student success and contributing to the continued development of our Travel and Tourism provision.
This is a fixed-term part-time opportunity for a period of up to 12 months
Actual Salary: £14,276.19- £18,070.14 (Full-time equivalent of £33,787- £42,766)
Working pattern- 08:30am to 16:00pm for 2 days per week (Actual working days will be confirmed with the successful candidate)
Role Summary
As a Lecturer-Travel and Tourism, you will teach across a range of Further Education programmes, delivering engaging and effective learning experiences that help students develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for employment and further study. You will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons, assessing student work, supporting learner progress and contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement activities.
Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will help ensure students receive an outstanding learning experience within a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Travel and Tourism programmes.
- Prepare learning materials, schemes of work and lesson plans that support student achievement.
- Assess and mark student work, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Support, coach and mentor learners to help them achieve their individual goals.
- Contribute to curriculum development and the enhancement of subject areas.
- Monitor and record learner progress and achievement.
- Participate in quality assurance, course verification and course leadership activities as required.
- Support student recruitment, selection and enrolment processes.
- Contribute to departmental planning, self-assessment and continuous improvement activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the effective delivery and day-to-day running of programmes.
Essential Criteria
- A relevant degree or professional qualification together with strong subject expertise in Travel and Tourism.
- A Level 5 teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards achieving one.
- Experience of teaching or training within an educational or professional setting.
- Substantial industry experience within Travel and Tourism, Aviation or Cabin Crew.
- Knowledge of innovative teaching and learning approaches, including the effective use of ICT to support learning.
