As a busy first opinion practice, we also provide referrals in internal medicine, laparoscopy, radiology, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, ophthalmology, dermatology and acupuncture. Our extensive equipment includes CT, video endoscopy, laparoscopy, vascular sealing device, harmonic scalpel, CR digital radiography, digital dental radiography, colour flow Doppler, capnography, ventilator and VVS to support in-house care and imaging.
The successful candidate will have a client-focused approach and enthusiasm for general veterinary practice. A minimum of two years' experience is preferred. Certificates are welcomed and fully supported but are not essential.
Our team includes five Veterinary Surgeons, including certificate holders in ECC, soft tissue surgery and ophthalmology. You'll also work alongside 13 Registered Veterinary Nurses, two Student Veterinary Nurses, three Patient Care Assistants and nine support colleagues. Typical days are split between consulting, theatre and inpatient care. Our rota can be tailored around your preferred working pattern, with both full and part-time applicants welcomed. A full-time role is 38 hours across four days per week, with a 1 in 4 weekend rota and no out-of-hours commitment.
As a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.
You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.
You are a confident and motivated veterinary surgeon who enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to delivering high-quality patient and client care. You’ll bring:
- A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
- Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
