Mobile Trailer Technician

Reporting to:

Product Support Manager

Working Hours:

Your hours of work will be 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday – Thursday and 7.30am – 3.30pm on Fridays (with a 30 minute unpaid lunch each day).

You will be expected on occasion to work later in the evening or weekends as business needs require.

Key Objectives

Tiger Trailers are looking for a Level 3 HGV Trailer Technician to work within our onsite Vehicle Maintenance Unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in Trailer Repairs and Maintenance. Including a Strong understanding of electrics and hydraulics. Liaising with customers on their sites you will ensure a positive working relationship is maintained at all times.

Responsibilities Include:

Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
Complete MOT preparations and ensure vehicles meet DVSA standards.
Carry out safety checks in line with company and legal requirements.
Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults and apply effective solutions.
Maintain accurate service records, job cards, and compliance documentation.
Work to deadlines to minimise vehicle downtime.
Support colleagues in the workshop, sharing knowledge and best practice.
Adhere to health & safety policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Key skills and experience

This role is ideally suited to a hands on, organised, proactive and self-motivated individual. Suitable candidates will have:

Qualified HGV Technician / Mechanic (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
Proven experience in commercial vehicle repair & maintenance.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of HGV systems, including hydraulics, brakes and suspension
Strong understanding of electrical systems and able to interpret wiring diagrams.
A current HGV Licence (Class 1 or 2) desirable but not essential.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

Employee Benefits:

£19.75 - £23.20 per hour (depending on experience)

41.5 hour week Monday to Friday
