Northern Energy is a family-friendly company currently based in Hampsthwaite, a small village just outside of Harrogate. Due to growth, there will be a relocation to Boroughbridge in Summer 2026 to our brand new, custom-built premises. We aim to serve communities throughout England with domestic, commercial, and agricultural LPG. In addition, we offer various services, which complement our business. Due to business growth, we are looking for a skilled, reliable and enthusiastic Class 2 Rigid Driver with Class 1 experience to join our team delivering LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) to a wide range of customers in the Midlands and surrounding areas. This is a multi-drop delivery role, supplying LPG to a variety of customers.
Main Responsibilities:
· Safely and efficiently deliver LPG to multiple customer sites per shift.
· Operate Class 2 rigid vehicles (and occasionally Class 1 vehicles as required).
· Load LPG from the plant in preparation for the next day’s deliveries.
· Carry out pre-use vehicle checks and ensure all work complies with company and regulatory safety standards.
· Deliver safely and confidently to sites with tight or restricted access.
· Complete delivery documentation and electronic records accurately.
· Work independently and as part of a small, dedicated team.
· Stay away overnight when required to complete deliveries from our other depots. (Not Tramping)
Personal Requirements:
· Ability to remain calm under pressure.
· Strong teamwork
· Great enthusiasm and attitude for the role, as well as a high level of resilience
· Ability to work to deadlines.
· Strong verbal communication skills
· Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
· Valid Class 1 (Category CE) licence (for loading and transfer duties)
· Current Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
· ADR Certificate including Class 2 – Gases
· Experience delivering to sites with tight access
· Excellent safety awareness and attention to detail
· Ability to work a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern
· Previous experience in multi-drop tanker operations is ideal – but not essential
Pay and Benefits
· Hourly Pay £18.00 basic - £22.50 overtime rate
· Monthly “Energy” payments of £200 to help with fuel.
· 16 days holiday plus 8 statutory Bank Holidays
· Annual profit share payment, approx. £1200
· Driver winter retention bonus £600 paid in January and April
· Driver performance bonus £300 per quarter
· Extra shift bonus - £250 plus 2 days holiday on the completion of 5 additional shifts
